Trauma & PTSD
Alida has a particular interest in working with trauma and is an experienced psychotherapist of over 20 years.
She believes in giving her clients the space and time to enable them to process their trauma so they can move forward to live a more fulfilling life; clients often express how their trauma can stop them from living.
She works both with historical trauma and more recent trauma and besides direct referrals into her practice she also received referrals from referring agencies such as the Emergency Services, Rail Industry and Veterans.
She works humanistically, holding the therapeutic relationship as one of the most important aspects of the work and is flexible in her approach; aiming to hold the client at the centre of the work.
She works with many presenting issues including; adult/childhood abuse and trauma, bereavement, relationship issues/breakdowns, depression, anxiety, bullying, work stress, work pressure, work/life balance, etc.
She works face to face, online and on the telephone; though primarily online and on the phone in the present circumstances.
Her qualifications include;
- Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis (TA) Counselling Diploma
- MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy
- Embodied Relational Therapy Diploma and Advanced Diploma
- Diploma in Supervision.
- Have completed Phase 1 of Brainspotting Training, soon to complete Phase 2 – June.
She’s registered with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy and the Embodied Relational Group (ERT). She’s also a Bowen Practitioner; Cert E.C.B.S.
